Celebrating 20 years of making economic sense

DNA Economics is a specialist economics consultancy which brings together business, strategy and policy skills.

Founded in 2004, DNA is proud to celebrate two decades of excellence in economic consulting, reflected in our 20-year anniversary logo. Check out our LinkedIn page for more as we take a walk down memory lane.

In an increasingly complex commercial and policy environment, economic thinking and advice can provide a clear, logical framework for decision-making. DNA Economics is a specialist economic and development consulting firm, which provides clients with the in-depth expertise and analysis necessary to make the right choices.

DNA Economics combines a deep understanding of the Southern African business and policy context with specialist skills in international trade, public policy and regulation, competition economics and climate change. Where DNA Economics does not have specialist skills in-house, we are able to draw on a network of local experts and academics as well as our strategic business partners in Australia and Europe.

DNA is trusted and respected throughout Southern Africa for our economic analysis and expertise; and recognised globally for our regional insight and experience.

Working at DNA

DNA Economics is a small, flexible firm which offers excellent opportunities for career development in the field of economics. Junior staff are encouraged to explore a range of project experience, with specialisation into practice areas developing over time, in line with an individual’s interests and competencies. Our ideal candidate is able to apply economic theory to real-world problem solving; is intellectually curious; can work well either in teams or on their own; and communicates well, in both the spoken and written word.

We are open to approaches from both newly qualified/less experienced individuals, who wish to explore a range of economic theme areas, and senior economists wishing to establish new practice areas. As a rule of thumb, all candidates should have at least a Masters degree in Economics, although exceptions may be made in special cases.

We receive many CVs and are unable to respond to all applicants – but we do keep all applications on file and will review and respond to them should opportunities arise.
